Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-08-15

Short version

AI Slop Detector is a free tool that runs entirely in your browser. Use it as a hint, not a judge: detection scores are indicators, never proof. Don't use results to accuse people or institutions.

The service

AI Slop Detector provides a browser-based text and image checking tool and an educational library of AI slop examples. The service is free, requires no account, and is provided "as is" — we may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time without notice.

Detection results are indicators, not verdicts

All scores and signals produced by this tool are heuristic estimates. They can be wrong in both directions: human writing can score high, and AI-generated text can score low. You agree not to use results from this site as the basis for academic integrity judgments, employment decisions, legal claims, or public accusations against any person or organization. If you need certainty, consult a qualified human reviewer.

Your content stays yours

Text you paste and images you select are processed locally on your device and are never transmitted to us (see our Privacy Policy). You retain all rights to your content. Since we never receive it, we claim no license to it and cannot use it for training or any other purpose.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Example illustrations

Images in the examples library are AI-generated illustrations created for this site to demonstrate publicly reported slop patterns. They are not real viral images, and they do not depict or make claims about any real person or company. Each illustration is labeled as such.

Intellectual property

The site's design, text, and original illustrations are owned by AI Slop Detector. External sources linked from case cards (such as Wikipedia articles) belong to their respective owners.

No warranty, limited liability

The service is provided without any warranty, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service or reliance on its results — including decisions made on the basis of a detection score.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
